I now live in Anacortes and have been using Google maps and Island beach access (IBA) to scout out beaches that might produce SRC. Found myself on Coronet (deception pass park). Nice long gravel beach. Fish and wildlife surveyor said her co worker fishes for SRC on this beach. Lot's of current but saw no fish. Then I went to Ala spit park. Lot's of gravel beach and I saw some Osprey diving for fish (good sign?) So.. my question is .. is it possible to catch SRC on these waters? I am truly intrigued by SRC but am not sure that it is a realistic fishery in this area. Any input would be much appreciated, Jim

From what I have read South puget sound is the place for SRC. That being said I have also have read that Whidby Island can be productive. I'm not expecting much, maybe a fish or two for every few trips but am unclear as to weather this is a realistic goal.

I've always thought Coronet and Hoypus Point looked incredibly fishy, but haven't caught any fish fishing them for SRC or coho...saw coho killing bait one time. The tidal movement seemed very funky to me on the flood (back eddies and such where I didn't immediately know where the fish would be likely to sit) so I might suggest fishing it on the ebb, which will also give you some backcasting room on the beach there.
