Sea-runs and resident cohos

I am goin' saturday as well... I will be throwin' my stand-by's, Miyawaki Popper to start, and then some pink clousers and euphasids...

Resident coho have been a bit slow lately. The sea-run cutthroat are still around in pretty good numbers though. They seem to be a little closer to the estuaries right now though... Clousers will work.

If you're around the south sound, I could possibly head up there...I'm a little torn, been a while since I've been out to the big D, but then it sounds awfully tempting to head up to the the Olympia area to chase SRCs and/or rezzies...

I'd be happy to join you, Nom but I don't know many places to go - been to Golden Garden once and wasn't impressed. Been to Docs and Purdy a lot last year, not so much this year but did have one spectacular day at Purdy last year. Docs is closer and access is easier for an old crippled bastard like me but haven't had much luck catching fish there.

I did another place over by Purdy once last year but tides were all wrong....and then the damn break-ins started in that area so never went back.:beathead:

I think I may be heading over to Kopachuck beach saturday morning.

I'm still sorting out the details with my girlfriend but low tide is right around 12:30. I've heard people fish 2 hours before and after high tide so I should be out there by 10 AM and we'll see how the fishing is. If you guys wanna join me, shoot me a PM with your number and maybe we can set a small little meet up.

Also, hopefully not but my lymph node feels all tender...which usually means i might be getting sick...i hope not.

If you're going to Docs bring your euphasids, they were the ticket at this time last year. Chris at GH Fly Shop has tied up some great patterns.

haven't been out there before. how does the doc's area beach fish? 2 hours before and after low tide good times to fish? I know people have different takes on tides and I'm new at this SRC chasing thing!

i'd say hit the middle of the incoming or outgoing. that will be max current flow. if you're fishing the 2 hours before the change, you'll be fishing the slower water.

Docs to me has been a rezzie beach with the occassional SRC thrown in, but it does fish much better with moving water, Hendersonbay provided a very good guage to the Narrows! If you are after SRC's I would look more towards the estuaries.

I was thinking about hitting either Mukilteo or Picnic Point up north with some pink and chartreuse clousers on Sunday. I haven't looked at the tide charts yet so the time is still up in the air.

I would love to but we are working on the Jon boat with some buddies to get the duck blind up for Moses Lake. Count me in for next time. I've been looking for some fishing buddies.

I'm still a noob though, only been doing for a year and fishing salt for a few months. Hopefully I can pick up some good tips. So far this forum has been incredibly helpful

Im gonna be by the Fox Island bridge tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Last year the Rezzies were on fire! My dad and I LANDED 75 in about 6 hours. when the Rezzies are slow, the cutt's are usually bitin. Tide schedule looks kind of pathetic though, not sure how it's gonna work out...
