I was up on the North end of Whidbey Island today and I hooked a SeaRun Dolley Varden off the beach with a Clouser. Very georogous 18inches. I had heard that these guys come out of the Sky and Sauk but had never thought of hooking one from the beach while working for silvers. Has anyone else hooked a Dolley Varden from the beach in the sound?

Sea-run Dolly Varden are frequently caught off the beaches of Camano Island and I've caught at least one as far south as Picnic Point. The latest studies, of course, indicate that they are not Dolly Varden (Salvelinus malma) but bull trout (S. confluentus).
