Found a pic on the interweb; notional tying sequence, change colors to suit your needs. Make it a little fatter and omit the tail and you have a passable hopper.

hook - Dai Riki 280 #10
thread/rib - UTC 70 grey brown
butt/abdomen/head - 1mm foam cream
tail - goose biots cream
wing - deer hair
thorax - dubbing cream
hackle - grizzly
legs - medium rubber cream
indicator - 1mm foam orange

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark; wrap to bend

tie in foam strip (1/3 gap width), wrap to bend; fold over to create butt, tie down

tie in biot on either side of butt

brush shank with Super Glue, wrap foam forward; tie off/trim

tie in wider (gap width) foam strip; wrap to eye

clean, stack, measure (tips to tail) a clump of deer hair; trim, tie in

tie in legs at base of wing; wrap halfway down thorax

dub thread, dub head

tie in hackle, wrap to head and back; tie off/ trim

pull foam back, tie down

trim foam, legs and underside of hackle

Regards,
Scott
