Sure just wait at the corner of your street with all your gear, and we usually wear our waders to the river so have them on.
Whats up Chukar Spey? Love them feathers, they work good on my secret tubes.thanks.

looks like Skagit and Sauk will be closed after Feb 16. Better doublecheck the emergency closure postings at DFW, there's been a wave of closures.

but the good news is they opened the Cowlitz for 4 days of smelt fishing...JEEZ.

Close it up! We pounded the river today for 12 hours and no takers. Ran into some guides and other guys with the same story.

Good Dolly year on the Skagit - the guides are fishing their clients for Dollys in the riffles since there are no metalheads to be found.

We were on a nice run today where I rarely see a boat. We had a fly guide pull in below us and have a picnic. We also saw two other driftboats pass us and had a couple sidedrifters in sled low-hole us within the same 30 minutes. SOMEBODY must have caught a fish there recently, but nobody touched anything while we were there.

That was the only spot of intense activity. The Howard Miller boat launch had no (0) boat trailers in it @ 4pm when we passed.

Beautiful day on the river. Warm, overcast, unlimited visibility. Not even a sniff from a steelhead~

Hey RiverRun,

Guide appeared to be in a yellowish tan and white fiberglass driftboat. I don't think it was wood. We were on foot.

I wasn't bashing the guide or his clients at all. I hope it didn't come across like that. He pulled in far below us and setup a BBQ on the beach. He was very polite and gave us plenty of room.

The BBQ smelled good, tho, and was making me hungry. ;)

That boat was just one of many that were congregated in what has usually been a relatively isolated place in the 2-3hrs we were there.

fwiw,

Brian
