does anyone know when skookum started putting the skid quard on the bottom of their pontoons? or possibly what models came without skid guards? kind of a random question, i know. just trying to get some info about a pair i've come across. thanks!

If they don't have chafe pads, then they are super early...back when Bill actually made them in house and was not using Maxxon tubes.

There must have been an good reason because he discontinued building his own and went with a production tube. I'm guessing it was either a quality, expense, time issue or combination thereof.
