Yep, just did a report on the B-root last week. They're out a little, but they're going nuts on the nymphs with a copper john dropper. 50/50 between the skwala and copper john dropper.
Got a phone call from some friends out of Bozeman who hit the 'Root Fri.-Sun. Plenty of adults around with tons of nymphs. Dry with a Prince dropper or bobber fishing a 20"er and prince combo. I had work all weekend so was pissed to not be able to make it. I was also shown a Skwala nymph from a closer river that got me all excited!! Hopefully some adults will be scurrying around this weekend!!
Chasing the skwala hatch on the Bitterroot is a great way to meet other fishermen. LOTS and LOTS of other fishermen. The river and the access spots start looking like a cross between a drift boat convention and a used truck parking lot.
