Skykomish Duffey Creek Spill?

993 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Porter
Anyone float high bridge down lately? Duffey Creek is spewing some nasty, nasty shit into the main stem. Duffey is the one that dumps in river left just above clay banks/doorman Rd access. Normally it's camped on by plug pullers but right now it is some very dark brown, almost black stained water. It could just be some pure black dirt that slid or something, but given the area I highly doubt that.

Floated it yesterday. Reminded me of the tannin (basically leaf tea) back in Michigan.

It was much darker than that around 3pm when I floated by. River left within 30ft of bank was almost jet black down to the new clay bank log jam.

It was nasty looking on saturday when i went through. My thought was maybe from the fresh clear cuts up on the hillside with the hard rain. The differnece in water temp made it stay seperated for a good 300 yards down stream.
