Just wondering how many of you have been able to pull the string and muster enough courage to brave the ball shrinking weather. I would love to live vicariously through someone elses life right now as I am not ashamed to admit I am the proud owner of a mangina.

ok so you will probably laugh at me but here is a true story. i got my float tube out and inflated it yesterday morning and got my waders and layers all ready only to look at the temp and realize all lakes are frozen @ 8 degrees. :(

So i went for a bike ride instead. The spokane still looks fishable, to bad it doesnt have fish!

Wandered a couple of Kitsap beaches today early. Cold. Comfortable in my bootfoot waders. No one willing to dance. Hands were pretty cold. It hovered right around freezing, maybe a few degrees above, for the few hours I was out. Chance of snow tonight and tomorrow. I'm hoping it dumps.

Was able to get out yesterday and do a little stream fishing from 12-2pm and even happened upon a midge hatch and rising trout. Not a bad thing when waking up to sub 10 degree weather. Moving water, bugs, rising trout and a few fish to hand. Not a bad day for mid-December.

well, if it makes you feel better, I actually WENT to Beaver lake and got to the shore with my tube, rod, net and everything else only to realize that the entire lake was frozen!. I am sure it was the funniest picture for the people that were feeding the ducks at the lake: this idiot all geared up on the shore of a frozen lake with the biggest WTF expression in his face... but I was so pissed off that I did not have time to feel embarrassed.

BTW: do small lakes in WA suffer from winterkill? It'd suck if all the trout they put in the lake last month died of suffocation because of the ice...

Lucky stiff but you can't just say I fished the Thompson without at least giving a couple of details. Come on throw us a bone...I'm dying here.
One buck to the beach , and one long line release after a couple of jumps . A good day , but I`m really hoping my buddy gets one soon . He`s trying to pop his cherry . Maybe tomorrow .

Got to the water Thursday. Turned out to be Spey casting practice, as i spent more time clearing guides of ice and not seeing a fish. At least my balls have thawed out.

Awesome. Hopefully the mighty T will turn around. I'd love to go back up there again. That is a great day. Good luck to your buddy.

Well anybody that lives in a deep freeze like I do. Will have NO place to fish. All water in my corner of Montana has an ice covering on it. Lakes should be close to driving on by now. Drove over the Ruby in the Twin Bridges area yesterday. Ice has so jammed up the river under the bridge there that the river is rising and it has flooded the fields close to the river. I took some pictures but I'm so electronicly challenged that I haven't figured how to get them here yet. But I'm working on it.

Fished at Ringold yesterday. 23 degrees. Guides icing up. Didn't put the ice-off paste on the guides and wouldn't have mattered - the line was freezing to the rod. Hard to do the skagit casting and shoot line with the guides iced up. No fish, but being out felt good.

I was on the Nisqually on fri. Absolute madness. 4-5 casts, knock the ice from the guides, repeat. No love from the chummies. Sat was warmer, so I took my 9yr old to the little D for a bit. No luck there either. Hey, at least it's been dry...

Headed to check out a spot on the Sno this afternoon. My mood for fishing was crushed moments after arriving. After parking I walked to the waters edge to take a look at things. There were four "gentlemen" of the European nature fishing from the bank. As I walked up, the oldest of the group had just caught a 9-10" Cutthroat. Apparently it was not what he was after. He dragged it up onto the grass bank, took the hook out, and then THREW the poor fish 15-20' down the bank and out into the river.
