A morning on the beach; cloudy and cool. incoming tide, Switch Casting lesson session on the water, no fly on the line. And of course they are showing up, the Salmon- chasing schools of bait up in a broad surface shattering spray, up and down the currents, right at our feet, and directly beneath our casting. Three days... Three long days to go... :beathead:

I was around whidbey last saturday, low tide untill about 4pm on the incoming, and didnt see any fish worth mentioning. My buddy, crabbing on the edmonds side claims to have seen a decent amount of fish. I think I know where I will be during the opener.

I've caught a few in area 11 king fishing, biggest around 6 lbs. There around for sure.

You could have tied on a SRC fly. Area 9 is open for trout year round.
