Excellent all around, general use rod. It did great with skagit and scandi heads. I only used it a few times. Has minor wear marks on the blanks, no scratches though. Reel seat has a minor scrape. The shorter length gives you small and medium river versatility, but it can still bomb a skagit head 70' with little effort. I actually fished a scandi on it with great success since the tip is no slouch. Skagit head was 450gr, which seemed perfect. Scandi was 435gr, which also seemed perfect for me, but an expert touch and go caster would probably prefer a 420gr. This rod punches above its price point by a long shot. I priced it to sell quick.

Recognizing this, Tom Larimer and Steve Rajeff joined forces to create a collection of true spey actions carefully crafted to meet the performance characteristics of this new breed of fly lines. All five models share an 1111" length, perfect for executing short swings and managing low overhead canopies. With progressive flex patterns, medium-fast actions, and pumped power levels, IMX-PRO ShortSpeys jack casts like your favorite long rod.
