I had this posted before as a complete setup but have sold the reel individually. So now rod without reel. Sage Bass II Smallmouth Rod in case with original owners name and number sharpied on the outside (I believe I am the second owner). Zipper of case and inside sleeves are in perfect condition. Rod is in great shape with very little marking on the rod, some slight rubbing where the sections join, but otherwise very clean. Cork is soiled as shown, but solid and probably could be brightened up with some cleaning. The line that was on the reel has been removed with 100 yards of twenty pound backing. The used line is in great shape, put onto the reel when it was new and only fished twice. It has been wound back onto the original line holder and put back in the original box. There is an extra brand new 290 Grain Sage Bass line included two lines total. There is also a practically unfished 8.5' 12lb Bass Bug leader as well as an unfished leader in the package.

I'd love for local pickup in Seattle, but will ship at cost and split paypal fees with the buyer $375

These are the greatest thing since the swimming frog. The shorter length (aside from tournament considerations) helps with accuracy and the shorter lever helps lessen fatigue when casting heavy and/or bulky bass bugs. I consider my smallmouth rod the most functional fishing tool I have ever owned.
Agree. I had a 9' #9 TCR and a Sage LMB rod strung up and fished side by side with bulky a top-water pattern. I could cast and fish the LMB rod all day long as opposed to the #9 which caused painful fatigue in 20 minutes. Distance or mending wasn't necessary either. No distinct advantage with the longer fly rod with the type of water and species targeted that day.
