South Sound help

491 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Mike T
I'm going to be staying in Tumwater weekend of May 6&7.
I would like to fish for src while I'm down there. I live at the other extreme of Washington salt water about 5 miles from Blaine border crossing.
Anybody open to fishing that weekend that's willing to show me around?
Looking at maps it looks like it's not far to lower Hood Canal from Tumwater. Am I right to assume there will still be src around that area? I think I can recognize some likley looking spots if I see them.
If anyone wants to pm me some suggestions or perhaps spend a day or part of one fishing I would be very grateful.
Short of groveling this is my best shot at one of my Washington bucket list fisheries.
I would be thrilled to return the favor if someone ends up in Whatcom County with extra time to fish on their hands.
Thanks!

You are correct, you won't be that far away from the canal and there will still be src around.

If you're in Tumwater the south Puget Sound will be a little closer than Hood canal. Try these beaches, they are well known and have fish. Easy access too. PM me if you want some more beaches to poke around at I'll probably be fishing that weekend as well.

Edit: beach names redacted. Bums were hurt

Sent you a pm with southern options so as to not name specific beaches on the forum.
