Made a call to St. Croix then to Brooks Montgomery. He says if that is an older brown blank (discontinued about 4 years ago or so) that he'd recommend a skagit + tip = 600 to 625 not to exceed 650 and for a scandi setup step down from there for an estimated total weight of 575 grains. He did not have anything written down for a specific grain window but his notes reflected these two setups. Hope this helps.
I had this rod a number of years ago and fished it with 600gr Skagit head with 10' of T8 and heavy flies regularly. This was a good set up for this rod. I did not fish it with a Scandi but used a 9/10 Windcutter for non sink tip applications. It was a good all around rod for the price and fairly forgiving.
