Too smoky today to fish for Summer steel, so I painted one instead. Loosely based on a pic of a fish I caught last Summer (my profile pic). Haven't done much art in years, but my 6 year old daughter and I decided to stay indoors and paint instead.

And her creation.

Turned out to be a great day after all!

THAT is great!...I used to paint with my girls a lot...it made my heart swell...art taps the soul of us all when the walls are dropped...nothing better than doing such with your kids...it is memorable for you and them...and afterall as time moves on and kids grow and live they have things like this to remember like an anchor of love...

I sub teach art at a HS here...and weird as I may be...I am appreciated...I gotta say even after 30 years as a designer of big exhibitions and an artist ...it is beyond rewarding and I tear up thinking about another life as a real teacher rather than what i see as a bookmark one...i guess i am really good at it at this late phase in this incredible life I have...

Probably needed those experiences to be the teacher you are. I taught high school for a couple years, then changed career paths. I enjoyed it, and know I wouldn't be who I am now without those experiences.
