I was looking through the 2003- 04 regs and noticed that the Stehekin River has a catch and release season March 1 through June 30. This seemed odd to me as most other trout streams are closed until June 1. Are anglers targeting spawning landlocked salmon, or is it cutties and bows? Is it even possible to fish a river like this for spawning fish in late spring, or is it way too blown out? I've managed to pull some large spawning rainbows out of blown out streams in the rockies in may/june in low snow years.
