Not a big deal and this will be the last picture odyssey for awhile, but wanted to share a fine night with my son. He's caught fish before and he's a decent caster, but for some reason the last few times we've gone, he's struck out.
Two-a-days start tomorrow in Belgrade, so we had to make last night count. After I had caught several...
Finally!
This was actually a tough cast for him, since the bank behind us was high and he had to lay out a series of roll casts to get out to where the fish were beyond the vegetation...These are good faces to see on a 17-year-old...
The Brown was actually larger than his death grip makes it appear (rest assured, it was released safe and sound)...
Only pic of one I caught I'll share, mostly because of the water...Something about it I find beautiful...and it was a perfect 56 degrees...
He moved over to the other side where the water was beginning to boil with rises and...
Toward the end of the evening, I decided to run over and try a couple more difficult spots and left him to the feeding frenzy...When I got back, he told me he caught one more and lost one...Said he took a picture of the one and sent it to me.
I didn't even look at it until a little while ago and saw this:
I went in and woke him up from his pre two-a-day slumber to tell him e'd caught a Brook Trout. I've only caught 3 in the several years I've fished here and never on this side...He was clearly more interested in sleeping
Anyway, a great night with my boy before he's swept away with football...and basketball...and track...
