Not a big deal and this will be the last picture odyssey for awhile, but wanted to share a fine night with my son. He's caught fish before and he's a decent caster, but for some reason the last few times we've gone, he's struck out.

Two-a-days start tomorrow in Belgrade, so we had to make last night count. After I had caught several...

Finally!

This was actually a tough cast for him, since the bank behind us was high and he had to lay out a series of roll casts to get out to where the fish were beyond the vegetation...These are good faces to see on a 17-year-old...

The Brown was actually larger than his death grip makes it appear (rest assured, it was released safe and sound)...

Only pic of one I caught I'll share, mostly because of the water...Something about it I find beautiful...and it was a perfect 56 degrees...

Toward the end of the evening, I decided to run over and try a couple more difficult spots and left him to the feeding frenzy...When I got back, he told me he caught one more and lost one...Said he took a picture of the one and sent it to me.

I didn't even look at it until a little while ago and saw this:

I went in and woke him up from his pre two-a-day slumber to tell him e'd caught a Brook Trout. I've only caught 3 in the several years I've fished here and never on this side...He was clearly more interested in sleeping :)

Anyway, a great night with my boy before he's swept away with football...and basketball...and track...

What happened to three-a-days followed by Wrestling? Nice Browns and 56 degrees this time of year; you must be at 10,000 ft!

True enough...good job! I sincerely hope the age of the electronic binky begins to fade and fast. While in Bozeman a couple days ago, we watched a group of kids, maybe ages 10-12 walk by in the parking lot, faces absolutely glued to the small screen emitting life as they have come to know it. One little guy walked straight into the shopping cart corral and made no fuss about doing so... as if that happens all the time. It's really great your son is getting out and experiencing fishing and sports.

He's an RB...There'll be some of that...He wrestled as a sophomore and went to state, but last year decided to play BB.

That pond is spring fed...not due to altitude.
He does some of that, but you're absolutely correct...it's kind of a plague.

Although, he played NCAA College Football growing up, and, for him, it gave him a little head start on plays and formations before the real thing. Opposite side was watching kids who played BB and FB vid games who then thought the real thing was as easy as the thumb movements in the TV.

Go figure.
Nice job! I grew up and went to school in Belgrade. It sure has grown in recent years!

Amen.
Good job and nice report.
It is that time of year with fall approaching quickly.
I still have a t-shirt that my college coach gave me that says "Two-a-days are a bitch".

Practice in WA begins Wed the 17. I coached for 25 years. This is going to be my first fall off since I was a youngster. Already miss it but plan on increasing my fishing. Missed a lot of great action over the last 25 years.

Great for a dad to see his kid get into some fish. Especially after you left him on his own.
