We had some spectacular sunrises and sunsets this summer when half of central WA was on fire.Ya gotta luv the west for the most beautiful sunsets, truly miss that. I remember years back around 5am, I was heading towards Toronto and saw this reddish haze in the distance. Thinking it was sunrise but turned out to be Toronto's polluted smog, yuk..
It baffles my mind they don't keep this lake open year round. I don't see the logic of shutting it down in freaking September, no lessPark Lake - well past sunrise but still a pleasant morning for my wife and I to walk along the east side of the lake. Lots of ducks and coot on the lake, geese flying overhead and we saw a mature bald eagle.

Did I mention it was really calm? Soap Lake was white capping, Lenore had a slight riffle, Blue Lake and Park Lake were mirror like.
I too wish WDFW would at least lengthen the season on Park through November. I feel the same with Blue Lake (which gets fished out of season early in the spring and late into the fall....). Not uncommon for me to see a couple different cars pulled off the highway with anglers busy fishing out of season. It baffles my mind they don't keep this lake open year round. First clear night and the moon is brutally bright. I could not get to see far enough below Venus to get a try even. Earth rotating. So close..Hopin' for a clear sky this evening for post-sunset glimpse of Comet Leonard - should be aligned with Jupiter, Saturn, Venus (5:00 local time):
