An advantage to a light teardrop rig is, small three day fishing trips are tolerable. Also could be towed with a 4 cylinder engine (remember the price of gasoline--it will be back!). No hotel fee.

A freebie, for the builder---
Google: "Wyoming Woody Teardrop" There are images and the TeardropBuilder.com plans site. Plans get anal, except where it counts, weatherproofing. A traditional design.

My neighbors with the Camp-Inn have put between 55k and 60,000 miles on their teardrop. They are heading out for Michigan and a couple weeks. They pull it with a RAV4.

BTW, won't bother me if you are bleeding this teardrop idea to death. Sometimes, it's the only way I shake off a less than Wow idea; or one that should be, Oh, no. Convert the label to "Minimalist RV" and we are still good. Besides, you aren't the only one benefiting. I still don't know why you labeled this "NFR". That's like labeling every rod and reel post NFR.

Ron, somehow that thing has mammary written all over it, you would just expect to see something in the range of 38D step out of it. And at $31,000 US dollars it appears that it's main appeal would be to the more style than substance crowd. Not to worry-there are plenty of those folks out there and even some on here.

I'm sure it tows well but beyond that there is a good reason why UPS delivers stuff in boxes instead of egg shaped containers.

I'm anxious to see yours though, I'm sure the Trophy Gilley will keep your mind off of how small it really is inside-she'll never be more than an arm's reach away!

I don't get why people dislike tent trailers, we have a Coleman E-1 with 16 inch tires tows like a dream ,it's got hot water, a furnace, holds 50 gallons of water, sets up in about 20 minutes room for two. We have used it for up to two weeks and still have water & propane left over.we can haul our pontoon boats on it. But no toilet which for many is a deal breaker. For us it's a perfect compromise between a diesel pusher rv. & teardrop.

Never said I disliked tent trailers. Actually like them. Teardrop options intrigue me.

Cool, I've thought od a small u haul and converting it inside. That guy says one of his trade interests is a teardrop. Maybe he realized he is claustrophobic?

I'd love to have something like that, but being stuck in a supine position to dress/undress or during extended periods of inclement weather would kill my back. I'm sure Hank would be quite content with the cozy, deluxe digs, however. It would be nice to be able to lash-down a toon or kayak on top, also.

Mark, with about 60hp that thing might have worked in Kansas where it is 800 miles to the nearest hill. I can't see ever getting over Tioga Pass in one though.

It might work just fine nowadays with a 250hp cute ute with AWD. It would be a welcome replacement for some of those monstrous aluminum boxcars that clutter up campgrounds these days.

Probably could 3D print a nice little camper. Amazing what these printers are kicking out. Above auto took 44 hours to make. Only going to get cheaper, better, and faster much like electronics

On a serious note. For small "complete" campers the choices are much more limited. For complete...fridge, bathroom, minimum double bed, dinnete, burners and microwave. Small closet.

I have NOT been impressed with most tear drop campers these days. Too small and dependent on being outside.

This is what I bought. Ignore the comment about sleeping six people. It sleeps ONE. Two if your very much in love.

Weight wise it is similar to a tent trailer.

If you want a small trailer for two people ,somewhat in love. I would get one of these....though they are expensive even with the current Canadian exchange.

Both trailers are built to order and almost impossible to find on the used market at decent prices.

If you do not want a shower, fridge, etc. etc. I would just use one of the camper shell conversions. I had great times with a double bed in the back of my Datsun pickup. The bed went over the wheel wells so there was lots of storage underneath. The truck camper pictures shown here are just great.

If your short you can put the bed sidewise on a full size truckl and have lots of room for cooking, etc. etc.

I would think this a better choice than a tear drop. But a friend with one said they blow over in Eastern WA winds. So, dangerous for desert lakes? . .... You might piss off that rattler you are avoiding by tipping over onto it.
