Thanks for posting your comment.
A positive and appreciative attitude like yours is contagious. Come fish again.
Know what y mean, no BS.
"Up here your lucky to get a smile and two words."

I'm an 'ex-pat' Canadian and a couple of years ago four of us went up to BC to fish the Vedder and Harrison. No big deal ... until we hit the Boarder. 4 guys, no 'booze,' no "pornography' DVD's (Well, did have Shreck II), no stop at the duty free store ... and we (and the motor home) were damned near strip-searched. The little female (?) 'ton of fun' that tossed our gear was really pissed off that she had a ZERO got-cha. Last time I'll head north to feed the Canadian economy. And I do mean the very last time.

And KK, you head towards the south end of Oregon to fish the Rogue, et al ... you're "all in" once you show up at my door.

A few years back, my father in law and I did a week long Kamloops trip. Everyone Canadian angler that we encountered on the various lakes we fished were almost over the top helpful in terms of giving us flies and advice after a brief greeting/conversation. We both came home amazed by the friendliness of our north of the border neighbors.

I fish up your aways just about every week...great people, obviously I love it...but the Vedder is as one buddy described..."an old whore pumped up on botox"

A discussion about this has been happening on Flybc. this past week...There are lots of problems with that flow including considerable break ins...nothing against mericans...they break in indiscriminately...

Probably what you'll find when you are close to any major urban area and it's the only game in town for the most part now....

Poke around, stop in at Micheal and Youngs, Reaction Fly on whatcom road...If a weekend warrior, hit freds on the V. and talk to Daryl or Dusty, who work there now...some nice water away from the gong show...and equally decent people..
Fred,

I've had nothing but great experiences with B.C. residents and their border guards. The U.S. border is much worse usually. I travel north quite a bit. That's my experience.

The pecentage of assholes in any population varies very little, regardless of race, creeed, color, sexual prefernce, origin etc. I just wish the percentage did not seem to be so high.

Thanks Kalum kid.

I'm pleased that you had such good time. Come back and spend more:clown:. Lord knows we can use the money down here.

Golfman..M&Y is the only place to shop. But that flyshop in Port Angeles is pretty impressive.I have to ask why do you travel to the lowermainland?
Canadians were great on my first visit in 1955 and they still are.

Where did you find a real Gas Statin Attendant? Those only exist in Oregon.
