We fished the upper Green yesterday above the gorge.
The river was very beautiful full of rivletts and deep pools.
The river is very healthy with lots of bugs in and out of the water, plenty of food for the fish.
There were alot of smolties and all active trying for the fly which was bigger than them. They tried so hard to get it. Caught a few fish but all small but healthy with beautiful strong color.
Cheers

Good to hear this and good on ya for telling the news. I made a nasty crack the other day on another post about the river being so full of dead bodies. I sort of regret that: it's not only not funny but the Green should never be demeaned by anyone.
When I was a boy and there was a Field and Stream annual contest for the largest fish by category, the Green River often won the steelhead division with huge fish approaching the thirty pound mark.
She's a grand lady, should be respected, and I'm happy to hear your good report.
