The mighty Yak....

View attachment 118635 Had a guided trip on the Yakima on Wednesday with Stefan from Ellensburg Angler. AWESOME trip. Great Guide. Went in at big horn about 1pm. Nymph fished all day under an indicator. Caught a lot of 8 to 10 inch rainbows. 1 rb about 16", 2 white fish, one was about 16" so a hard fight and one 8" Chinook.

With about an hour and a half of daylight left the caddis hatch came on and so did the dry fly fishing. Slow at first but better as we moved into the miracle mile. In the last hour I hooked 5 fish in the 16 plus range, 2 broke off the leader and 3 in the net and countless missed sets.

What a fantastic day. Gonna do it again today!

Very much like the day I had yesterday (Thursday) with my FIL on an inflatable from Red's. Didn't bag anything over 10 inches but was a great introduction to the Yak nonetheless. Can't wait to go back and land myself a 16 incher sometime soon!

Been trying to post a photo of one of the bigger trout but when it uploads it is upside down. Any thoughts?

For some reason my pics do that but if I edit and resave they won't even if I don't actually edit them.
I'll have to try that, but for now.......back to the yak!
