All that wonderful snow pack disappearing before it can do any good.
I drove over the NF CDA today and yeah, it's big. The Palouse is over its banks, all the fields between Moscow, ID and Potlatch have running water. Amazing to see it go so fast.
I'm driving a load of sand bags from Seattle to Cour d'Alene right now. Well, actually I'm at a truck stop. Can't wait to see it.
They are boiling here in Montana also. Big Hole normal at about 400 cfps. After this warm spell, running about 2400 cfps. The snow is disappearing fast.
Here in the NE corner the Pend Oreille River is running almost 50,000 cfs and yesterday matched the all time high for the date-a record set back in 1972. Normal for this time of year is around 20,000 cfs so it is about 2.5X the average. More to come, there is still over a foot of snow on the ground and much more up high.
