Trailer tires

1000 Views 11 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Jim F.
Just bought an older trailer for our Kayaks. Got the VIN for it and getting it dialed in...but I need to replace and get a spare tire. No where that I have called sells 4.80 x 12 tires. Anyone local to the Tacoma area have any thoughts?

Nothing fancy, but for ferrying two kayaks, it should be perfect. Just need fresh treads!

Did you try WalMart, Dave?

WalMart? I didn't know that was even an option. We'll check that out tomorrow! TY
They list both tires & rims on-line; hopefully they have what you need in-stock. Good luck and YW!!

I looked and yes they have a decent selection! Harbor Freight also has the four lugged rims, so well check both places tomorrow, thanks for the tips Jim!
You might want to move up to 13'' if the wheels have the same bolt pattern.

And if you have sufficient tire/fender clearance. Since the fenders appear to be attached using U-bolts, fabbing new brackets that allow mounting the fenders higher wouldn't be too difficult.
Les Schwab has them. I went with the 5.30 x 12" ...slower the hubs spin is always better.
If it's not too late for my post, check Jet.com. Got mine there.

Ended up getting them at Tinys Tire on Pacific in Tacoma. Thanks larry and all of you for the options!
