Trident Fishing tested some reels a while back, and found this Sage reel performed (for them) better than the more expensive Sage reels they were testing. I have several Sage reels, and I tend to agree with their findings - the sealed carbon disc drags on these reels are super smooth with a wide range of adjustment and NO startup interia. I'm selling these reels as they are duplicates of some I already have.

Sage 1650 and extra spool. The 5 weight black reel with beautiful gold accents is in great shape, the extra spool not as nice but just fine for fishing. This reel can acommodate 6 weight lines. $100 excluding shipping and/or PayPal fees. SALE PENDING

Sage 1680 and extra spool. The 8 weight version of the above 1650 is in excellent condition with some very slight marks on the rim edge (I zoomed in on the pivs so you can see what I mean), and the extra spool is nearly perfect. The sealed drags on these reels are super smooth. This reel can also accommodate 9 weight lines. Would be a terrific first 8 weight or budget reel, a super backup reel, and an awesome switch rod reel (my original intentions for it). By the way, BOTH OF THESE REESL use the same drag system, the SCS "Sealed Carbon System" that Sage uses in its more expensive reels. In fact, Sage highlights the SCS drag system in its newly announced "Spectrum" reel lineup.
