Any body tried this weedless method? Or maybe your thoughts on a comparable technique that actually has been field tested and works?

I use mono loops tied into the pattern. You have to tie them weedless from the bench, can't retrofit them like the video. Cool option.

I am no knot person and would love to do that one, even weedy. Bad eyes and arthritis be the reason. Not sure how secure it is.....

Hey GT, would you link to the original source? I'm curious, but since I don't have FLASH on my computer, for security reasons, I can't see your media.

oh, never mind, I was able to reverse engineer from the MEDIA link in this reply, getting to

I watched the video again and actually, it is a dandy way to make a pattern weedless. However, you do need to use very heavy tippet material or it won't work... which is fine because I use 10 lb Maxima (see cable) for LMB fishing and the only time I need a weedless fly.

I can see where you could lose the tubing once you hooked a fish but it would be no big deal to carry extra tubing. Now all I need to do is find that small diameter surgical tubing... I've seen it somewhere... I just need to remember where.
