Fished around some Vashon beaches Friday and Saturday. NO fish even rolling or jumping just a few small Sea-Runs for me and that's it. I fished right up to very dark and super early in the morning. All the Boats came in empty handed so I didn't feel to bad.

I was pitching the two-hander mostly on the west side in front of the big pimpin new house on the beach with the two American Flags at the bulkhead (my asshole father in-law owns the house but he is cool in some ways). Clovis Passage bay, think I seen you?

We fished the east side today. My wife got a 10" Blackmouth and I lost a fish (unknown due to the salad) just off the boat. I'm starting to think I need to put little Obama stickers on my flies to get any love from fish along Vashon.

"Obama stickers.." haha, good stuff! Vashon should be getting more productive shouldn't it? I'm new to those beaches from the boat thing. Jake B and Clint are pretty knowledgeable on the Ollalah side, I'll contact him.

I tend to think that Colvos Passage is more productive, at least for fly fishers, I got my first Chinook on that side. Dalco Pt in Colvos gets hit hard by people fishing gear but most of that fishing seems to be done on the east passage. The beaches on the east passage tend to be more sand and lack kelp beds. I've also found more creeks flowing into Colvos.

Nah the girls were at the house and dog, well about 6 of them. You need a sticker that says VSH on your fly and a soy latte to get some love out there.

We puttered around from the mouth of QM Harbor to Pt. Robinson yesterday around the high tide. We saw one other boat flycasting at Pt. Piner. We trolled and cast big baitfish imitations. The winds settled enough to look for surface activity. We chased a lot of baitfish schools, saw some SRC, but no coho.It was a day of catching a lot of salad. Nice day for a boat ride!
