Don't know what would happen if a trident hit something but I can tell you what happens when you get to close to one of those subs...
As can I.

Bit off topic but I always thought it was stupid not to include a "what to do if a sub shows" up section in the Washington Boating Education stuff that is required for boating.

Back to the OP... Saw this on FB the other night. Pretty crazy. What jumped out at me was how well that little boat took the impact! If the boat manufacture was still around it would make for a great advertising video for the toughness of their boats.

Nothing quite brings out the dumb in folks like owning a boat.

I've found it pretty straight forward, knowing what to do when a sub shows up. You stare up the barrels of all those escorting coast guard fast boats' big guns and do whatever the fk they say (ie. GTF outta da way).

As for the boat, I agree, major badass hull construction!

First rule of the road, outweighs all the rest. "Might makes right"

Guy was lucky. Real lucky.
"he was right, dead right, as he sailed along, but he's just as dead as if he'd been wrong". Remember that one Jeff?

And as far as the missile boats you see coming out of the Strait, it's the accompanying attack boat you don't see, that's already sized you up and communicated that to the boomer. As they say, you've been "weighed, measured, and found lacking". Having a shadow might have changed since my day, but when we had the Russkies lurking offshore near the boomer bases, the Los Angeles class boats ran interference.

Just saw this. Wow, shit happens. If he isn't deaf, he would have heard the first blasts. Must have been into something important.

The most common boating fault I see, and hear, is that sailboats always have the right of way. Guess what. If their motor is on, they are a power boat. I'd bet nearly half the sailors don't know that, and every one of the party pundits.
