Here we are, watching the liquid sunshine: what are you guys doing besides work today? Anyone out flogging the water? I'm sitting in the gun room by the electric fire, the dogs are sacked out on the rug nearby, and the tying bench is sitting unused. What projects are calling?

I've been finaly cleaning up all of my gear. Some is just dirty from hanging in the garage so long. I haven't used my drift fishing stuff in years and some lighter spin gear. I should think of selling some. I've also been saving some good books to read, and starting to clean up my tying area and gathering the materials I want to start working with this time. I still need a couple of dry days to get in the last leaf raking session and a few bulbs to plant. Then too I have to keep up exercisng. I need to get back in condition when I can fish again. Having been ill I'm so slow at getting things done now, it gets very frustrating that I can't get back in shape faster. I'll make it though, and in the meantime all of you have a great time at what you do this season. Hope to see you on the rivers before long. Bob

Well-I'm at work until 2pm today (and on days like this, I'm kind of glad to be at work:)) but for the next three days, I have some Crazy Charlies, Gotchas, Clousers, Mini-puffs, and various crab patterns to tie for my trip to Ascention Bay in a couple weeks. This time of years, it is very nice to have a trip to the tropics to look forward to-it gets me through these windy rainy days in pretty good shape! Rick

catch up on my readings. I've got a stack of books since my visit to Powell's down in Portland. Currently reading: The Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.

Snowing hard now in Leavenworth! I worked the dogs on their retrieving skills until they were sufficiently soaked, so now they're downstairs in their kennel attempting to dry off.

Gary, I should take your advise and throw the rod-and the 12ga in the truck, pack a soggy hound and do the old cast&blast out at the Ford this afternoon! Good thought!! And, since it's the great american smokeout day, I'll make sure to haul a cigar along:p

Drying my bones after a morning session of catch up work around the farm, and am enjoying every wet minute of it. Once my hot soup is down and I stop procrastinating I'll get back out for more.

Sure is better than work, which I ditched today. Sshhhhh, don't tell my boss.

It's obviously not the Los Angeles River there's water in it. Where did you find that much water in one place Mark? It can't be the ocean. Bob

No problem Bob.
I'm not from that immediate area. I live about 65 miles east. I saw no sign of burn damage in the vicinity. It is Arroyo Seco though.

Hard to imagine having to join the L.A. commute to teach flyfishing when we have so many opportunities up here within that same distance to actually fish. and so differennt types of fishing that can be done. Was in Redlands once to check out the college about 50 years ago. Thats why i'm up here that scared me to think of living down there for long. No green, no water, too many people, no way. sorry again Mark Bob
