Getting up early to chase steelhead. Question is, where should I go? I've been fishing the Sky along Ben Howard and the N.F. Stilly around Oso with no luck. Somebody, please point me in a promising direction.

Your fly tying bench.

At least that's where I will be tomorrow, as I am tired of chasing steelies when there are so few.

I spent the last 2 days fishing the Sky between Monroe and Startup, and I have caught nada. I think I saw some rolling near Ben Howard, but that could have been not enough coffee, too.

I have heard that the indians may be netting the Snohomish hard, so that few fish are getting through. I sent an email to the NW Indian Fish Commission today about when they were netting on the Snohomish, but I have yet to hear back.

I'll call tomorrow.

I fished up and down the stilly, several runs on the sky and have seen nothing(with the exception of a small src that went airborne a few feet away, and a wayward chum on its last leg). The low river levels have greatly benefitted the netters as the steelies can't get over them. The rivers need to rise!

I'm going to take tomorrow off and let my feet dethaw, then I'm planning on floating either the Sauk or Sky on Wed. A buddy told me that some folks were hooking up on the Snoqualmie, but can't confirm anything.

Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

Sorry guys you are not having any luck. Have you tried the #1 producing Steelhead river in WA, the Cowlitz River. Limited wading and kinda crowded. Go on a weekday. I've gone several times in the last 2 months and caught at least 1 every other trip. Looks like most of you guys are way north. If you do go, don't drive down by yourself because you will be too tired driving back and might fall asleep behind the wheel; been there done that! Good luck!

East Fork of the Lewis has a ton of summer run in it. Caught 4 last weekend around lucia falls. Did an early morning float from daybreak park to la center and saw seven winter run caught by gear guys. Lots of water and not that many fisherman.:thumb
