As far as I'm concerned, my fishing is all about having a great time on the water catching fish, while being quiet and respectful. When I want to party down and make some noise, I head to the surfing beach! Sometimes there's old acquaintances sitting on the bench up on the berm, and we put a few back while watching the groms and rippers perform their antics.
Ahh...I fondly recall the Summer on Oahu back around 1970 (give or take a year) when the Dept of Parks and Recreation would actually sponsor local rock bands to play on the lawn just behind the berm at Sandy Beach, my local bodysurfing spot, where I hung out and perfected my bodysurfing style. Surf Rockin'!
Those boat launch clowns described by Swimmy are just plain clueless and in the wrong place to party.

SkiBumDude that showed up on Oahu back in the mid-70's, (nickname was "Space") was originally from Montana, but had moved to Idaho for the skiing, then arrived in the Islands wanting to surf. Rented a bungalow next door to my surf buddy, Bob, and we took Space up to the the North Shore and helped him learn the basics. He charged. No fear! Great entertainment watching him wipe out! We'd be on the beach watching him, RAOBL. But he eventually got the hang of it.

Tweakers luv it when you do that! Brings them in from miles around and it has the added benefit of saving you a shuttle 'cause yer rig will be undrivable when they're through with it.

Rock on fishy dude...
Eeeeeyep! It only took one break-in/ripoff of my car stereo to teach me that lesson. Ehukai Beach Park, Oahu....1974. These days I'm so fed up with all the low-life perps, that if there were no witnesses, maybe I'd just blow away any perp I caught in the act of rippin me off. No loss to society at all, perhaps a benefit!

I don't think an 8-track missing from the glove box qualifies...
Close. My bad on the year, if that confused you...was actually the winter of '75/'76. It was a cheap cassette player, and I'd installed it in the glove box. The thieves broke my car door lock, then pried the door off the glove box, since it was locked (mistake).

I have a working mid-70's 8-track that had been in my brother's fiat, and a few tapes...in a box in the attic of my garage.

He really misses it.....
Ha! good one! My brother's GF came down to visit us in the summer of '67, and a pianist named Van Cliburn was on the island for a concert. She played piano, and was a fan of his. She was bummed out that she missed his show. However, my Dad took her and our family to dinner at the Kahala Hilton, where Van Cliburn was staying, and we spotted him in the dining room. She went over and got his autograph!
(Had to edit this after my memory corrected itself:D...I remember Liberace being on TV back in the 60's...my folks always watched prime time TV variety shows like Ed Sullivan and Lawrence Welk).
