Anyone know who makes the rods branded as LL Bean? I would describe the color of the blank as an olive/gold, the hardware is black. It was bought within the current calender year.

Thanks

I had an online conversation with LLB about a year ago to discuss the same question. Most or all of their rods are produced to LLB specs at a factory in Asia (Taiwan if I remember). From what I understand Loomis had built rods for them once upon a time but I don't know if they're part of the current arrangement. I had a 2pc 5wt "Guide" that I think was a Loomis rod...not sure of the age but probably late 90's. Best graphite rod I'll ever own but I bought it used so when I cracked the ferrule that was it. But I think the old Guide is what morphed into the Orion (don't quote me on that). Either way, very good rods for the $ and tops on cust svc/returns/etc...I'd be swinging one now but really wanted to try the Echo2.

Edit: Just checked with them again...Loomis is not currently part of the supply chain on LLB rods. BTW, the "Live Help" option at the bottom of their home page works really well...someone always responds within seconds.
