My new wife is dragging me to some resort in Woodenville Saturday. While she's at a seminar, I'm supposed to just cool my jets. I was wondering if there's something near there to amuse myself with. And I
don't mean Goodtime Charlie's, I mean with my fly rod.

How long do you have...you can always cruise out to Monroe and hit the Skykomish. The water is lower, but I hear there are still some steelhead runnin.

Let me know where the seminar is, and I can give you some directions out there.

Let's see, there is Swede's Fly shop in Woodenville, and that is a fine spot to kill an hour or two. Cottage Lake is only about 5 or 6 miles east, and you could fish for bass, trout does not warm up until the fall again. The Snoqulamie is about 20 miles away, and the Sky as others have said is about 30 minutes away. Lake Fontal is about 30 minutes away with a 30 minute hike, but I am not sure how it fishes mid-summer.

There are many options, but I would pass on fishing the Sammamish River, as it is too warm now to keep trout happy.

Is Cottage Lake where Norm's Resort is?

The new wife wants me to roller blade the trail with her. It would be safer for me to run Sunset Falls in an inner tube.
