The sooner it's starts, the sooner it ends. Yawn. All the fake, fawning fouls with that weird spray trainers use and miraculous quick recoveries from apparent career ending injuries, 90 minute nil-nil ties ending in shoot outs, etc, don't know what the attraction is...if that's enjoyable have fun. I'm going to watch the grass grow in my backyard.

Have been looking forward to this month long exhibition of the world's best "futebol".

When Braizl plays the "beautiful game" it is hard to root against them.

I would like to see the US beat England 2-1 but our middle field will have to step up in a big way.

Tight lines

I'm fired up, took the day off work. Beers at 6am this morning for the opener. Having a hard time deciding on fishing tomorrow or US v England! I think fishing is going to win given the weather.

URU/FRA was a yawner, but we have high hopes for beating the Brits today. La Copa is what gives me the heart to live another four years. We upgraded our dvr to hold 30 hours of HD this time due to the time changes.

To all the detractors who complain they don't see enough scoring, rent a porn flick. All scoring, no foreplay.

Watching soccer is like watching the grass grow or cement dry. I for one have never liked it. It reminds me of hockey. Legal mayhem. Kicking a round ball around a hay field. A little like golf.

1 - 1 isn't a bad result, the first half the US team just tended to flouder around on the Pitch. Don't know what the coach said at half time but they came back flying! Really felt bad for the English Goalie ...... Ooooooo, that was a major gaff .... but I'll take what I can get. Another place where we got lucky was Rooney had chance after unmarked chance but couldn't get it in the back of the net.

Any die hard soccer fans out there? I've been waiting a long time for this and I'm looking forward to some great matches! Espana and Argentina!!!
Hell yeah!!!
Been to almost all of the Sounders matches back in the 70's, to the championship match in 77 against the Cosmos in Portland..damn that was a few years back.

Was pissed off when we had a chance to host the games here in Seattle, (some of our locals were afraid of hooligans causing trouble and messing up our neighborhood... *pansies*.....

I've been waiting for this for months and now it's here.

I PITY THE FOOL (as Mr. T would bark out) who badmouths this game if they've never played it before...

Hell yeah i'm excited! Bring it on!!

And no, i'm not related to #9 for Espana (as far as I know) but I will root for them if they make it to the finals..

GO TEAM USA!!

Poor Green for England....

I doubt that poor soul will ever be allowed back to the island if they never make it past the first round....:p
