Title says it all.

Probably going new - but if you have one that's hasn't been used much and would like to move it for a good price, drop me a PM.

There's a nice Taurus 9 for sale in classifieds. Concealing a .45, even in a smaller framed gun, has its advantages and disadvantages. Shoot a few before you buy.

I carry a S&W .45ACP in the M&P frame.

Put about 200 rounds through the HK45 in vegas at American Shooter. Good times.

Fell head over hells in love with the feel of the .45. Interestingly enough I was only marginally less accurate than with a Beretta9.

Think I'll go with the 45. If I hit what I'm aiming for even once - I should be good.

I love my .45 Para, it's a great thump of a round to shoot. Don't forget the S&W40. It has stopping power and speed. 4 out of my 8 handguns are 40 cal. I would love to buy that sig p220 though that's in the other post.

I have to agree with the thoughts on the 40. I think the H&K .45 is a great system, but the H&K .40 Compact allows some more versitility, and the mags carry the same number of rounds as the full size .45 high cap. mags.

I've shot the M&P, and no offense Derek, but I'd rather eat liver...I really hate liver.

Good luck in your search

Blegh.

Dont' listen to these guys try and talk you down in caliber. .45 all the way!

Seriously though, if you are buying to conceal, that's a big gun. If you are buying to shoot recreationally or perhaps for HD, go for it. Great guns. I shoot my buddy's better than I shoot my own 45.

LOL you guys. If you're looking to stop someone, go the .45. If you're looking at concealing mostly, the .40. But I'd stay away from the 9mm.

From a long time .45 lover I changed over to a 40 S&W as a carry gun after shooting and then picking up a Sig 229, 40 S&W. Don't get me wrong I still love 45s but a 40 S&W will in fact give more than enough stopping power, is very smooth shooting and higher mag caps.

Agree with Jerry above pass on the 9mm.

Think I'm sticking with the .45. I'll be carrying it in bear country.

Yeah yeah - I know mace is fine - and a shotgun is better - but that's my excuse. I really like the big ol' .45.

In terms of concealment. I wear extremely baggy sports apparel only and will probably just keep it in my waist band. hah.

I can hear it now. "Is that a 45 in your pocket or are you happy to see me?"

I like the 40 as well. But I like that little extra with a 45. Plus I'm biased. My first pistol that I ever bought with my own money was an old Colt 1911. Loved it a lot after I rebuilt it with help of my Dads friend.

It is always better to carry what works best / feel best to you. That said, something to think about, if you are going to carry in bear country a .44 mag is a better option, a .45 has great knock down power but is a bit lacking on penetration and if you have to use it on a bear it could make all the difference in the world.

But as I said before go with what works best for you.

Oh, I was gonna say that too about a 45 for bear defense. Alot of guys use the 454 casull in bear country, at least the guys I know up in AK. But it's basically a longer 45 anyways (with a few tweaks LOL).

But I agree, if you're confident with a gun, use it. A firearm won't help you any if you don't have the confidence to use it IMHO.

Another benefit of .45ACP is that it's very easy to reload compared to some of the smaller, hotter caliber's. If you are shooting a lot of .45, it gets expensive fast and reloading becomes very important.

I have an H&K USP Expert in .45. It's a great gun. My 100lb wife's favorite gun is the USP SOCOM. The large frame & weight help temper the recoil. Unfortunately, neither of those are practical for CC...

Enjoy your HK!

Jesse, you might call Doug or John at LEED (Law Enforcement Equipment Distributors) in Tacoma. They might have what you're looking for in either new or used condition.
