WTB or WTT Steelhead conventional gear

I am looking for a conventional rod/reel setup for steelhead. I might consider trading some high end fly gear for it or just outright purchase? Would prefer high end like a loomis rod and quantum reel setup but will consider what ever you may have.

thanks

check out slate creek fly rod company website! If you like it I can hook you up!
have a nice irideus fly rod 11ft 6in 6/7 wt perfect for steelies $200 new used 3 times $150 plus ship, pics if interested
I have a Shimano Sahara 4000FB reel for sale / trade of interested...
Are you looking for spinning or casting? Loomis isn't all that great anymore (mostly because it isn't loomis). The Shimano line of rods is actually getting nicer (go figure). Now, for an inexpensive route, TFO is making an AWESOME line of gear rods designed by Gary Loomis. Nicely built and handle nicely. I have 3 of thier rods now I'm testing out. I'm in love with them. Something to consider.

Hey Jerry,

both ;). Looking for casting for myself and ten spinning for the kiddos and wife.

Thanks
Really look at the new TFOs. They are beautifully built and super economical. Could buy 2 to 3 TFO for one Loomis and quality is same IMHO.

Will the TFO's have the sensitivity needed for steelheading around here with a baitcaster??

Oh god yes. I've played with them a bit now. I'm really gonna break them in with salmon season hitting hardcore. But seriously speaking, we steelheaded with FS89C's with 7001C baitcasters. If we could feel and set the hook on steelhead with those combos, not many you can't do a good job with now. LOL. But seriously, they are sensitive and responsive. I really like them so far.
