Hey Jerry,Are you looking for spinning or casting? Loomis isn't all that great anymore (mostly because it isn't loomis). The Shimano line of rods is actually getting nicer (go figure). Now, for an inexpensive route, TFO is making an AWESOME line of gear rods designed by Gary Loomis. Nicely built and handle nicely. I have 3 of thier rods now I'm testing out. I'm in love with them. Something to consider.
Will the TFO's have the sensitivity needed for steelheading around here with a baitcaster??Really look at the new TFOs. They are beautifully built and super economical. Could buy 2 to 3 TFO for one Loomis and quality is same IMHO.
Oh god yes. I've played with them a bit now. I'm really gonna break them in with salmon season hitting hardcore. But seriously speaking, we steelheaded with FS89C's with 7001C baitcasters. If we could feel and set the hook on steelhead with those combos, not many you can't do a good job with now. LOL. But seriously, they are sensitive and responsive. I really like them so far. Will the TFO's have the sensitivity needed for steelheading around here with a baitcaster??
