I've done the math on this a couple of times, and it sure looks like a five (5) piece rod to me, and the model code is 990-5. (Nine foot, nine wt, 5 piece) I'm not acquainted with this model, so what am I missing?

You are correct Don, I messed up on the # of pieces on the rod, it has been corrected.
