Hi Everybody-

This weekend I am going to be heading out to the Yak, but in an area that I have never fished before. I am going to be around Zillah. Has anybody ever fished there? In my visits out that way I have never seen anybody fishing, not even a "sin"caster.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

The Lower Yakima is good for smallmouth, carp, channel catfish and an occaisional trout (mostly browns)...I fished it a number of times when I lived in Richland ('90-'95)...3-4 pound smallmouth are fun on a fly rod.

Looks like great trout water but it starts to get warm and muddy as soon as it leaves the city of Yakima. :COOK

I really appreciate the advice. Most likely I will start off by targeting trout with dry flies. If they are not in there I may bail out early.

Any words from the wise about fly patterns for carp, bass and their buddies?

Thanks again
