Bump...years ago this board would have high school kids wondering about doing some kind of capstone project related to fisheries...it was good to see back then but don't recall anyone asking for advice about this kind of stuff in a LONG time...this seems like a perfect opportunity
Yakima River Headwaters T U Chapter Summer Internships
The Trout Unlimited Chapter based in Roslyn, WA is seeking two interns for the summer of 2017 (June-August). Here's an idea of what we're looking for:
Communications - The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree path in Public Relations, Journalism, or similar. The duties will be to design and manage our social media and "Headwaters Matter" campaign.
This will include website development, newsletter, existing and new tactics to reach our membership via Facebook, Instagram, etc,. The Communications Committee will manage this position and set goals, pay, and scheduling.
Conservation - The ideal candidate will be pursuing a science degree related to environmental and aquatic conservation, wildlife management, or similar. This role will be responsible for developing programs to further the Chapters "Angler Science" initiative, including field days and community outreach, and identifying projects in coordination with WDFW and other partners in the Teanaway watershed. This position will work with the Conservation Committee to set goals, schedule, and pay.
