Craig, I hassled OrangeRadish about those tuna wraps while at the Hoh Down. He did not see the logic in me bringing it up. I just said you stunk up the cooler and it was gross! How do you like bananas?

Will do. Wish it was fishing the Yak with your crazy ass on Sunday. Looking forward to the report! (Yes, I've heard stories!)

Very nice float from Umtanum to ?? thanks Rob for running down to Roza and saving my old tired body from having to walk there to pick up the trailer, Big Pines. For the first several hours weather was perfect and when the sun came out downright warm. Pete and Rob joined me today for a float shared their beer and sandwiches and chips. We tried to catch fish but fish or rower was not doing something right. Now I try to check the weather forcast very carefully and try not to get in big wind storms on the Yakima, so when I post open seat Ihave checked both Yakima and Ellensburg forcasts. About an hour into setting up the float Yakima changed from light winds to 11-18mph from the SSW and Ellensburg was still Light winds. Still thought we would be safe. NOPE, pinned on the bank just below Buck Island from 3:00 to around 4:30, Weather says gust to 33, We questioned getting out of the boat and having it blow up on the road. We ended up rowing down stream to Big pines and walking for the trailer. We still had a great time I think. Slow fishing again for my boat. I was pooped!!

Have to confirm that it was an awesome day, despite the wind. Rower (Craig) was definitely doing it right, fisherman probably weren't, and the fish... who knows? Weren't really biting but the Canyon was beautiful when the wind stopped and the water looked nice. Learned a ton for my first time on the Yakima and already can't wait to go back and catch that first Yakima trout. Thanks again Craig for a great day and I'm hoping to fish with you in more productive conditions next time!

And not to kick a dead horse but holy shit that wind!.. It must have followed me cause i came home to a dark house, waited about 30 minutes before power was back on. Man o man never new the canyon could rival Florida for hurricane force winds! Thanks again Craig for everything. Yes the fishing was slow but who the hell cares, a memorable first float down the legendary "Blue Ribbon" Yakima River canyon, who can complain. And by the way this trip confirmed my theory that you must be in a boat to get a trout on the Yak. Good times and great to hang with a couple WFF badasses for the day, and thanks Rob for accompanying me on the slog over the hill. Will definitely jump at the chance to fill a seat on this sail, er drift boat again.

Pete
