You're going to prison

It probably wasn't self defense, but there's not enough information to make that or the opposite conclusion. There's a very good reason for not calling 911 first. Everyone in rural areas know that when you need a cop right now, and call 911, they will arrive in 30 minutes if you're lucky. What I find odd is that if you call 911 and say shots fired, threat neutralized, then those same cops magically arrive in about 5 minutes when it doesn't matter how long it takes them to get there.

I live in a semi-rural area, and it's delusional to expect a county deputy to arrive in less than 30 minutes.

1). He left and got a gun, and came back
2). He shot the dude through the shower curtain.

If that's not crystal clear as murder, I don't know what is. Any body with a concealed carry permit that has read the legal documentation on the use of deadly force, and/or taken a self defense handgun course, knows you can't just blow a drunk guy away because he's in your shower. Yeah, was the dude drunk, stupid, and trespassing? Sure. But did that crime warrant execution? No way. Watch and see. The old man is going to jail. Guaranteed.

yeah, that's one dumb guy! Kinda hard to tell the cops it's "self defense" when you put a couple of holes thru the shower curtain into a naked guy.....

two years ago this last April, I lit up a drunk who crashed into part of our wall in front of the house. He was trying to get away, and too drunk to realize what he'd done to the front end of his new Tacoma, but he sobered up real fast once he realized what that little red dot was for..... In this case, the deputies took maybe 15 minutes to get here. He tried to run one of them over in an attempt to get away, but only succeeded in crashing his truck further. They weren't too gentle with the guy.
