Easy to tie. This is my modern interpretation of the Assassin which was originally tied by Dale Lackey of Eureka, CA. Copper or green crystal flash for the butt, olive dubbing rope, as orange-ish furnace hackle as you can find tip tied into the butt, sometimes I wind the hackle up through the legs like this one, sometimes not. The 45 degree mounted Crystal Flash butt makes it wag in the current real sexy-like when swung in the surface scum where is makes a good V-wake. Also makes it spiral like a mofo when you cast, but I will take the wag which is uncommon in most nymphs. I make the same fly with 5x as much flash on the butt for when the sun is on the water so it lights up big time.
