The Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie is flowing at 9,640 cfs. That's crazy! I never fish it higher than 1,200 cfs. The mainstem near the falls is at 17,900, so terrifying!
Whoa! 80,000 cubic feet per SECOND in 1991? Atsalotawatta!Chris Scoones said:. . . Attached is the historical record flows.
Here in the Snoqualmie Valley, of greater concern is the question, at what flows do you start losing cows.Pram-Man said:Probably a dumb question, but at what flows due you start losing redds??![]()
I know that chum redds can be dewatered for a while before the eggs die. As long as there is inter-gravel flow and fry have been observed to emerge out side-ways to the flowing creeks. Amazing fish ! Hopefully Pinks are as smart as chumJim Swan said:Now. But talking about redds. I was on the Sultan before all of this rain hit and the redds from the Humpies were high and dry. They spawned when there was high water from the releases and when they stopped with the releases the water dropped. That left many redds high and dry. It's really a shame for that to happen, but mother nature always seems to provide.
