Let's say you've got an hour or so drive to your favorite fishing water and you can bring along just one CD to listen to along the way (or cassette or 8-track tape depending on the music technology in your ride).

What would it be?

For me, I'd probably bring 'Alison Kraus + Union Station Live' 2-disc set.

I like to make sure to have a good selection. Ben Harpur, Little Feat (Lowell George era), Newgrass Revival, Bob Marley, Widespread Panic, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, John Hiatt, Dave Bromberg, and many more.

Have to give a thumbs up to the Allison Kraus selection. Not familiar with that particular album, but she's got a lot of great stuff out.

Lately I'm all about the iPod. I've got 2000 songs/audio tracks (some audio books) and it fits in my vest pocket. But I Definitely second Fortuna's vote for Alison Krauss and Union Station. I love her voice. Or perhaps some Blue Traveler, or Hendrix, or... Tough call... That's why I bought the iPod so I wouldn'thave to decide.

Bob Marley's Babylon By Bus Live album is what really pumps me up for fishing lately, sometimes though I have to go with Phish, but when Im on my way to fish the Green River, its always got to be CCR's greatest hits, starting with Green River.

Hippies talk a lot about saving the world, but all they really do is smoke pot and smell bad - Eric Cartman

Andy - the dont call me a hippie, even though I am.

Good question 4-toon-a, one I can answer quickly. Today around 2ish I'm headed for El-rancho to do some work on the house(fishing will have to wait for the Dry Falls outing). In the deck will be Alan Jackson's GH2 disk. I'll be singing along to each tune and Sasha will be looking at me with that doggy-cocked-head look that says "I know you're saying something, but I don't know what the hell it means".
Several years ago you wouldn't catch me anywhere near C&W, but times and tastes change, don't they?

Roper,

I like to start out with I'm Gonna Miss Her by Brad Paisley. Any country song with the words, "hell yeah" in it. Any female country singer (Allison is great). Aerosmith and AC/DC as I get closer to the water, but I really enjoy AC/DC Thunderstruck when I'm actually waded and lined up, ready to hit the water.

OH man, I hadnt even thought about the Floyd or the Beatles. I have Abbey Road in my cd player right now, and Pink Floyd's Animals waiting on deck. Animals is my all-time favorite.

Since I also have an mp3 playing car stereo, I have every thing from classical, soul, to hard rock and hip-hop.

Recently, I can be found making a mix of ambient hip-hop/soul grooves. Yeah, it all fits on one disk.

After a long day, a little classical is nice, or in a rowdy mood, I have several Pearl Jam Boots.

Thats as tough as only taking one fly ;)
If I couldnt' bring My Hendrix, Ben Harper, Kanekoa, Yonder Mt. String Band, Leftover Salmon, Dwight Yoakam, Zeppelin, Chris Ledoux, George Strait, Martin Sexton, Floyd, and Clapton then you'd only find me with:

Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds CD, Live at Luther College.

'Trout Ball' by Greg Keeler. Includes popular favorites such as Neoprene (so sexy in my neoprenes), Whitefish blues, Trash Fish (hard rock) and These are a few of my favorite baits. Always a good pump up for fishing.

Aw bullshit, you never drove, you slept. I'd have to be drunk, stoned, or both to let you drive, I've had you pass me on the road and I see how you drive.

As for the CD's, you forgot 50 Cent, my main man!

Roper,

Life goes on, enjoy it...
