I have been enjoying tying and fishing this pattern lately and I am running out of proper sized furnace hackle. I haven't tried other types of hackle or body material for that matter; however, what I have tied has been working (olive/brown/black marabou tail, a few strands of peacock krystal flash in the tail, black rabbit fur with a small amount of peacock simi seal, copper wire and copper bead, furnace hackle).
I am thinking of sticking with furnace hackle but can't decide between and Indian Rooster Saddle, Wooly Bugger Saddle or something similar of a hackle. Actually, not sure if there is even a difference between an Indian Rooster saddle patch and feathers sold for Wooly Buggers.
I appreciate any feedback on preferred hackle color and type for tying Thin Mints.
